The Ford Wyoming Center was buzzing with creativity this past weekend as more than 30 tattoo artists from across the United States gathered for the second annual Ink Masters Tattoo Expo in Casper, Wyoming. The three-day event, held from Friday through Sunday, brought both seasoned artists and curious attendees together under one roof to celebrate the art of tattooing.
Returning after its successful debut last year, the expo featured live tattoo sessions, interactive booths, and daily tattoo giveaways valued at $200 each. The event provided a unique opportunity for attendees to watch the tattooing process in real-time, speak with artists, and even get inked on the spot.
Among the featured artists was Edwardemar Bonilla from Florida, who expressed excitement about the prospect of tattooing a Wyoming landscape. Bonilla showcased some of his previous work depicting landscapes from Phoenix and Florida and proudly displayed his recent Ink Masters awards. “That’s just the latest ones that I have,” Bonilla shared. “I have about 10, but some of these guys have a hundred, or 50, or 200.”
Competitions played a significant role throughout the weekend, with various “Best of” awards given out daily. According to Mike Hernandez, who helped coordinate the judging process, a panel of three judges evaluated the tattoos live, focusing on different categories each day.
This year’s expo featured 37 artists in total. While most came from out of state, local talents like Ivan TwoBulls and Gunnar Kron represented Casper’s own tattoo scene. Hernandez noted that many artists follow the expo on tour, moving from city to city and showcasing their work at each stop.
The Ink Masters Tattoo Expo not only highlighted the diversity and talent in the tattoo community but also brought national attention to Casper as a growing hub for body art. With its blend of competition, creativity, and community, the event left a lasting impression and a colorful legacy inked into the heart of Wyoming.
