Amanda Bynes is honoring a decade-long friendship with a meaningful new tattoo, shared in a rare and heartfelt update on social media.
In a TikTok video posted on May 18, the former Nickelodeon star revealed that she and her best friend Dylan decided to commemorate their 10-year friendship with matching ink. “My best friend Dylan and I have been best friends for 10 years,” Amanda explained. “And to mark our best friend anniversary, we got matching Roman numeral Xs for the number 10.”
She proudly displayed her new tattoo, placed on her middle finger, while noting that Dylan opted for the same design on her rib cage.
The 39-year-old actress also used the moment to debut a fresh personal change—her hair. “I finally grew my bangs out,” Amanda shared with excitement. “I’m so excited right now. Oh my god, I can’t believe it.”
Amanda’s new ink joins an already meaningful collection of tattoos. She’s been sporting a heart on her cheek since 2019 and also has a butterfly on her chest, a rabbit outline on her ankle, and a prominent red rose on her forearm. Most recently, she revealed a large snake tattoo on her upper left thigh in January. At the time, she explained on TikTok that the snake symbolizes transformation. “Snakes represent shedding the past, and embracing who you’re becoming,” she said. “A daily reminder that I can heal, grow, and start anew.”
Her tattoos echo her personal journey of change and healing. After stepping away from acting, Amanda graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2019. She later gained her independence by ending her nine-year conservatorship in 2022.
Since then, Amanda has pursued new passions, including a brief foray into podcasting and training to become a manicurist. “After thinking about it, though, I would rather get my manicurist license and have a consistent job,” she shared on Instagram Stories in December 2023. “I’m going to follow that path instead. Thank you for following my journey!”
From childhood stardom to a renewed path of self-discovery, Amanda’s latest tattoo is more than just ink—it’s a symbol of enduring friendships and personal transformation.
