A model known for her extreme body modifications has been left unable to open one of her eyes after a botched neon eyeball tattoo.
Mary Magdalene, a Toronto-based adult content creator and artist, has gained notoriety for her unconventional appearance, including multiple surgeries and bold tattoos. In her latest attempt to enhance her “mutant hybrid apocalyptic otherworldly goddess” aesthetic, Mary chose to tattoo her second eyeball — this time with neon green and yellow ink. She had previously tattooed her other eye black.
However, the procedure didn’t go as planned. Instead of achieving the desired “psychedelic effect,” she experienced a severe reaction. The yellow ink leaked into her eye, forming a large clump in the corner and staining the surrounding skin.
“Right now I still can’t fully open my eye,” Mary shared in an interview with Need To Know. “My eyeball is fully bruised, bloodshot, and swollen.”
The complications may require surgical intervention. “The yellow stain was a complication from the ink – I’m probably going to have to see an ophthalmologist for surgery to drain some of the excess ink from the eye,” she explained. “There’s a big clump [of ink] in the corner that isn’t spreading – it’s like it’s stuck there.”
This incident adds to a long list of body modifications Mary has undergone. Over the years, she has reportedly spent around $500,000 on altering her appearance, undergoing multiple Brazilian butt lifts, lip and cheek enhancements, nose surgeries, and even “blackout” tattoos that cover large areas of her body in solid black ink.
Despite this recent setback, Mary isn’t planning to stop anytime soon. “I have a breast reduction planned soon, and then my goal is to mostly be done with surgeries,” she said. “Then I’ll just continue with my tattoos and other modifications, like getting my tongue split, [more] body implants, pointed ears – stuff like that.”
While the model remains committed to her unique transformation journey, the health risks associated with such extreme procedures are becoming increasingly evident.
