Philadelphia Eagles’ star defensive tackle Jalen Carter has revealed a dramatic full-body tattoo as he gears up for the 2025 NFL season. The reveal follows Carter’s pivotal role in leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl 59 championship.
After an impressive rookie campaign, Carter elevated his performance in 2024. He ended the season with 4.5 sacks, six pass breakups, 12 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. His postseason stats added even more impact, with two sacks, a forced fumble, and three pass defenses.
Now preparing for what could be a breakout 2025 season, the Georgia alum chose to commemorate his success with an extensive tattoo that spans his torso and arms. The elaborate design features powerful imagery including an angel, gorilla, eagle, and lion, along with a street sign that reads “Apopka,” a tribute to his hometown in Florida.
The 6-foot-3, 314-pound lineman now appears even more intimidating to opposing offenses. His physical presence and new body art further solidify his reputation as a force on the field.
In terms of performance metrics, Carter concluded the 2024 season with a Pro Football Focus grade of 74.1, ranking him 22nd among interior defensive linemen. While his run defense was graded at 59.0, his 81.5 pass rush grade ranked seventh-best in the NFL for his position.
The Eagles are set to discover their 2025 NFL Kickoff Game opponent next week when the league releases the full schedule. They will begin their campaign with hopes of becoming only the third team this century to successfully defend a Super Bowl title — a feat previously accomplished by the 2003-04 New England Patriots and the 2022-23 Kansas City Chiefs.
Philadelphia’s defense, however, will look different heading into the new season. Key players including C.J. Gardner-Johnson, James Bradberry, Josh Sweat, and Milton Williams have departed. This shift places greater responsibility on Carter, along with fellow young defenders Jordan Davis, Nolan Smith, and rookie Jihaad Campbell, to take the lead on defense.
