Singer HyunA (33) recently shared the reasons behind her decision to remove her full-body tattoos.

On May 14th, a video titled “What is the result of HyunA’s Yongtaro point, Park Eun-ah’s ‘Nail’ on Yongjin’s chest?” was uploaded to comedian Lee Yong-jin’s YouTube channel. In the video, HyunA talked candidly about her tattoo removal process and the motivation behind it.

“It’s been a year since I started erasing my tattoos,” HyunA said. “I had a lot of tattoos all over my body, so the removal process took a long time.”

When asked why she decided to remove them, HyunA explained, “My mom once said, ‘Why don’t you try staying clean, just once?’ And I thought to myself, I’ve already done everything I wanted to do.” She added, “The removal process hurts a lot. I’ve had about four sessions so far, and I’m currently taking a break because of the pain.”

Lee Yong-jin also joined the conversation with his own experience. “I removed a tattoo on my leg. After having a child, I began to regret having it,” he admitted.

Curious, HyunA asked what the tattoo was, and Lee revealed, “It said ‘Fighters are born.’ But now, that kind of thinking doesn’t hold up anymore.”

HyunA debuted in 2007 with the girl group Wonder Girls and later gained fame with 4Minute. She launched her solo career in 2010. In October of last year, she married singer Yong Jun-hyung. Most recently, she made her musical comeback on April 30th with the new single “Nail,” marking her return roughly a year after her previous album release.
